‘Eternal Soul’ is an inspiring story. From this story, you will learn an effective lesson that will help you for the rest of your life.
To summarize the Story, ‘Eternal Soul’. This is the story of the King who learned a powerful lesson from his four wives.
Long ago there live a great King, who had four wives. Out of four wives, he loved his fourth wife the foremost and adored her with rich robes and treated her to delicacies. He took care of her and gave her the most.
The King too loved the third wife very much. He’s very proud of her and always wanted to show her off to his friends. But he feared that one day she might leave him and run away with the other man.
He too loved his second wife. She was his confidant and was always kind and patient with him. Whenever the King faced a problem, he could confide in her, and she helps him get through the hard times.
Now, the King’s first wife was a very loyal partner. She made significant contributions in maintaining his wealth and business and taking care of the household. The King did not love his first wife, and although she loved him, he took notice of her.
One day, the King fell ill, and he knew that he will die soon. He thought, “When I die, I’ll be alone”. Thus, he called his four wives.
The King asked the fourth wife, “I loved you most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now I’m dying, will you die with me and give me a company?”. “No!” replied the fourth wife, and she walked away without saying another word.
The King then asked the third wife, “I have loved you so much throughout my life. Now that I’m dying, will you die with me and give me a company?” “No!” replied the third wife. “Life is so good over here! I will remarry when you die!”.
The King then asked the second wife, “I always turned to you for help and you’ve always helped me. Now I need your help again. When I die, will you die with me and give me a company?”. The second wife replied, “I am sorry, I can’t help you with this. At the most, I can only send you to your grave,”.
Then a voice came out saying, “I will leave with you and follow you no matter where you go,”. The King looked on her and it was his first wife. She was so skinny and suffered from malnutrition. The Grieved King said, “I should have taken much care of you and given you more attention when I was alive,”.
Likewise, everyone has four wives in their lives:
The fourth wife is our ‘Body’. We decorate it with a sexy hairstyle, nice clothes and jewelry. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, but it’ll leave us when we die.
The third wife is our ‘Wealth, Possession, and Status’. We spend so much time gathering our possessions – House, Car, Smartphone, Laptop, guitar, DSLR, gold. But it will go to others when we die.
The second wife is our “family and friends”. They’re always there for us, and we trust them the most. No matter how close they had been there for us when we’re alive; But the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.
The first wife is something you can’t see and is in fact your ‘Soul’. we often neglect it in our pursuit of sensual pleasure and material wealth. It is the only thing that follows us wherever we go.
It’s an excellent idea to cultivate and strengthen it now rather than wait until we are on our deathbed to lament.
